This is not a “keep-the-lights-on” role. As COO, you’ll be at the heart of bunq’s momentum: turning strategy into action, building operational muscle across the company, and making sure we can grow fast without losing what makes bunq special.

Take Ownership:
Build and run bunq’s operating engine
Take end-to-end responsibility for bunq’s operational setup across all markets.
Set clear operating structures, decision flows, and ownership so teams know who decides what and how work gets done.
Continuously improve processes as the company grows — keeping them simple, scalable, and effective.
Turn strategy into results
Translate company strategy into concrete priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
Track progress, push follow-through, and step in when execution stalls.
Balance speed with quality: knowing when to move fast and when to slow down to fix fundamentals.
Lead at scale
Lead and support senior leaders and teams across multiple countries and functions.
Build strong leadership layers, clear accountability, and predictable execution.
Ensure teams are set up to succeed — with the right structure, resources, and decision clarity.

A sharp commercial and strategic mindset, with a strong understanding of how operations drive growth.
Proven experience scaling B2C or consumer-facing businesses, ideally in an international and online environment.
Strong leadership experience managing large, diverse teams across markets.
High energy, strong execution drive, and a bias for action.
Comfortable switching between big-picture thinking and hands-on problem solving.
