Ready to Get Shit Done?
At bunq, we're on a mission to revolutionize banking by making life easy for our users. Everyone at bunq takes on specific end-to-end responsibilities, known as Ownerships, which focus on solving our users' problems. Sometimes, the progress on these Ownerships can encounter roadblocks.
That's where you come in, proactively conducting Risk and Control Assessments to help ownership teams prevent setbacks before they occur.
Be at the forefront of our efforts to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement—join us in making banking simpler and more effective for our users.
Take Ownership
As an Operational Risk Specialist, you will:
Analyze KPI breaches, pending corrective actions, and incidents to identify Ownerships that need review, recommending their inclusion in the Annual Risk Plan for comprehensive business risk analysis and corrective action planning.
Review root cause analyses ("5 Whys”) on incidents to ensure that solutions are effective and efficient.
Monitor and track progress on actions defined in the Corrective Actions Plan project.
Collaborate closely with ownership teams to address identified gaps and keep management consistently informed of your findings and the progress being made.
This challenge is perfect for you if
You have good knowledge of the key concepts of risk management: probability & impact, risk treatment approaches, control design and effectiveness.
You are familiar with working in a regulated industry (regulatory bodies, audit trails, efficient production of evidence)
You understand the basic concepts of business process design, automation and AI tools.
You’re able to represent a process as a (work)flow diagram, be able to identify steps that can be scripted or otherwise automated using probabilistic approaches (Machine Learning, generative language AI)
You are an excellent communicator in English

Your journey
How do you become a bunqer? It all starts with a few quick tests that allow us to determine if bunq is a fit for you. If the results show that we’re a match on these fronts, we take it a step further and explore specific roles together.

What to expect from the tests
To kick off your application, we’ll first help you check if bunq is the right environment for you to succeed. Our bunq fit assessment takes approximately 20 minutes and includes 2 sections: a culture fit scan and a cognitive abilities test. If we match, we’ll move on to the next test where you'll get to prove your role-specific skills.
